Ask Lou: November 2010

Q: I would like to know if there will be a link to purchase Louise's new Christmas album online? - Cheryl O.
Cheryl, I am so happy that you want to purchase my new CD. The Christmas CD will be finished just in time for the Gaylord Opryland show, but not enough time for it to be released to stores. I will be trying to find a way for people to purchase it online soon.
Q: What is your favorite Christmas song of all time? Mary R.
Mary, it is difficult to pick just one song. I will share several of my favorites with you. "Little Drummer Boy" because the gift to Jesus was music, the second is "O Holy Night" because it was the first song to ever be broadcast & was played on the violin, and lastly "Joy to the World" because the Christ child was born and we have reason to be joyful!
Q: Have you ever thought about filming some behind the scenes videos of your Christmas show rehearsals for the website? I would love to see it. - Dustin S
Dustin, most people love learning, but I like HAVE LEARNED better! My fun starts when the curtain opens and I get to entertain everyone.
Q: Will we be able to purchase a live dvd of your Christmas show this year at Opryland? - Demetrius K
Demetrius, Because of the way the ballroom is designed, it is difficult to film the Christmas show without disturbing the audience, so we are unable to make a DVD. Hope you can come see us in person!
Q: Was wondering if you wrote this show and if you are wearing that beautiful white gown? - Sheri d.
Sheri, I will not be wearing the white gown this year, but I do have a beautiful gold gown you will like. My sister, Barbara, helped me put the Christmas show together again this year. I know we all miss her entertaining, but I get a lot of FREE sisterly help!
Q: Do you have a traditional recipe you make each year for Christmas? - Janeen
Janeen, I used to make a lot of Christmas treats for my family at my house, but now I just make show reservations. They get great food and front row seats!
Q: With everyones busy schedule, does your family still get together to share the holidays? - Nancy R.
Nancy, we see each other a lot, especially during the holidays. Our family celebration is always a couple days after the Christmas show ends.

Q: What kind of Christmas traditions do you have?
I have had many questions about the Mandrell family Christmas traditions. My family is baking a birthday cake for the Baby Jesus. It is a great reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
Q: What did you buy Sally Sue for Christmas? - Sally S.
It is hard to believe that Sally Sue emailed this question....I not only got her several gifts, but put up a doggy Christmas tree with paw print ribbon and pictures of all of her four legged friends!

Sally and I would like to encourage everyone to support their local humane society this Holiday season!
Q: What is your favorite Christmas memory? - Wendy G.
My favorite Christmas story is about my Daddy, and I send it to you and to all of my friends as a Christmas card:
